Crappy Graphs

Today we made a crappy graph. They aren't the most accurate graph, but they would be great for Elementary students! I also added several websites to my delicious account.

Today we were actually allowed to get on facebook. We took a survey of Professor Pierce's blog about facebook.

I then made an assessment about my Web Quest. I created this document by using Google forms. Click here to view

Rubistar!

RUBISTAR

A rubric is some type of a template that stands as a scoring tool. It is a way to gage a student's performance. A rubric lists detailed criteria for a specific assingment. There is also a point scale that allows students to know what they need to acheive to get a certain grade.

Wednesday

Today Professor Pierce went over our entire unit because he read my blog. It helped me understand everything better. (I guess I know you are reading this, :) haha) Anyways, I am working on my web quest. I am hoping to have it finished by Friday, but I have a busy end of the week. I completed my Prezi this past Monday. CLICK HERE to view. To get a link to the Prezi website - see April 7 post.

Today

Today in class we worked on our Prezi presentations. I am still somewhat confused as to this whole unit project, but hopefully I will begin to understand after each class we have.

Jing

On Friday half of the class was absent. But we still continued working. We learned about a new snipping tool, which is called Jing. Jing is a free software that you can download online. It allows you to capture a picture or anything on a page. Then you can easily transfer it to wherever you want, like your Prezi page. For the remainder of class, we worked on our Prezi presentations and asked questions.

Prezi

Today we are learning about a new online multimedia tool. Prezi is an online presentation tool that is "way cooler that PowerPoint." We had to sign up for another account name for prezi. I bookmarked prezi into my delicious acocunt

We will build a presentation with prezi out of objects we put in there, which will include a combination of texts and images.

Microsoft Photo Story

1. MPS stands for a Microsoft Photo Story.
2. Photo Story 3 for Windows is a program that creates a presentation from digital photos. It is also way better and more advanced than PowerPoint. Using this program allows you to add narration, transitions, effects, and music to your photos or PowerPoint slides. Once you are completed, then you create a Windows Media Video. You can get a copy of Photo Story 3 for free on the internet by downloading it.
3. The file type for a MPS project is .wp3.
4. The file type for an exported MPS movie is wmv.
5. MPS projects 0pen in Photo Story 3. But you can save them anywhere you want. (Ex: desktop, u-drive)
6. MPS movies open in Windows Media Player. We are uploading ours on YouTube.
7. Yes, you can do transitions between images in MPS project.
8. The image editing options in MPS allow you to crop pictures, rotate pictures, color contrasts, red eye, etc.
9. The image viewing options in MPS lets you to determine where you want the motion settings set (what part of the photo you want seen from start to finish) and the duration of time you want the image seen.

10. You turn a PowerPoint presentation into images by saving the presentation on your desktop. When you go to save as, then click on other formats. Save the type as JPEG File Interchange Format. (save every slide in this form)
